Triple Helix IV: Breaking Boundaries · Building Bridges

The conference will be organised around 12 tracks. Each track consists of a number of sessions, where normally four papers will be presented and discussed – altogether each track will be able to present approx. 20 papers.

A team of convenors will manage each track. Abstracts and papers should be submitted to the relevant track convenors. Check out the track themes and the contact details of the responsible convenors.

In general terms, the 4th Triple Helix conference especially invites papers that fill in the interplay between macro activities, such as research policy making, and micro actions, such as the creation of knowledge networks and the learning activities taking place within these. Keywords are:

  • science and technology policy issues
  • research and innovation management
  • university-industry links
  • knowledge network organisation
  • organizational learning
  • commercialization of science
  • new roles of universities in interaction with the private sector
  • regional development
  • other topics related to the intercchange between university, industry and government in a broad sense

April 20, 2002
Deadline for abstract submissions.
Abstracts are submitted directly to the relevant track conveners and should describe aim, methods, results and conclusions of the paper in maximum 1500 words.

May 24, 2002
Notification of acceptance of abstracts from track convenors.

September 15, 2002
Deadline for paper submissions.
Papers are submitted directly to the responsible track convenors, who will distribute the papers to track participants via e-mail.
Papers should not exceed 7000 words.
Participants who do not submit a paper will not be allocated space for a presentation in the programme.

The conference will mainly be held in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The two venues are at a five-minute walking distance from each other.

On the second conference day, delegates will have the opportunity to visit a Science Park either in the Danish or the Swedish part of the Oresund region.

The Conference bureau offers hotel accommodation at two hotels in different price categories, both at a special reduced congress price. One hotel is at the conference centre, and the other one is 10 minutes away by local bus.

Accomodation at these two hotels can be reserved online together with participant registration from the 15th of January 2002.
